In our busy lives, it's easy to rush from one task to the next without truly appreciating the world around us.

This weekend, I invite you to slow down and reconnect with nature through the simple practice of "Noticing Nature."

The Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley has outlined a beautiful exercise that encourages us to engage our senses and be present in the moment. Whether you're in a bustling city or a quiet countryside, there's always something to observe and appreciate.

  • Inhale - Take a few minutes each day to focus on the sights, sounds, smells, and textures around you.

  • Pause - Notice the intricate details of a flower, the gentle sway of leaves in the breeze, or the soothing sound of birdsong.

  • Exhale - Allow yourself to be fully present in the experience and let go of any worries or distractions.

Research has shown that spending time in nature and practicing mindfulness can reduce stress, improve mood, and boost overall well-being. It's a simple yet powerful way to cultivate gratitude and find joy in the everyday.

So, this weekend, make a conscious effort to notice nature. You'll be amazed at how much beauty and wonder surrounds you, waiting to be discovered.
